Maggie's first day!

   Maggie's first day

Yay! I am so excited for Maggie “the new student” to come.  Ella and I waited by the gate for Maggie, she arrived with her mum and brother, but her brother rushed off with his friends before we saw him though. We introduced ourselves and showed Maggie and her mum around, we showed them all the classrooms, the pool, the hall, the playground, the bike racks and the orchard.  The second bell rang, it was piercing listening to that for so long. When it stopped we were able to tell them that it was the second bell, so we had to go to class now, we showed Maggie inside to the mat.

Koka Pip introduced Maggie to the class and showed her where to put her stuff.  Rio, Ella & I all sat down at a quiet workspace, we all decided to get our question of the week done first. After 1 hour and a half we got done two of our quick writes and questions of the week.  The teachers let us go to morning tea. We all raced to the door and scrambled out.  We dashed off to the playground and crawled up the rock climbing wall.  We went down the pole a few times then we went to the tightrope. It was very wobbly and didn’t help that the boys were shaking it!  We heard the bell and sprinted back to class to learn our digi dig. When Koka Pip said what our digi dig was, Maggie, Rio & I thought it was an online game about  cybersmart, but when we looked on the slides it wasn't. It was a task.

We had got half way through our digi dig and realised we had done it completely wrong! It took us about ten minutes to fix up our mistake & then it was lunch time.  40 minutes later we had finished lunch and we were coming back to get something to eat. We finished off the day with a game of Annihilation, which Maggie had never played before, so it was pretty new for her. I thought Maggie's day was a great first day. I am crossing my fingers that she likes it and comes back tomorrow.
