Witing with speech marks about cross country

 Cross Country

Kia ora this week we have been learning about speech marks and this a example of something I said I hope you like it.

The minute I woke up I had butterflies in my tummy I quickly got dressed and had my breakfast.  Then I packed my bag and quickly ran to school I was hoping I wouldn't be late. But luckily I wasn't late when the bell rang I grab my stuff and sat down quietly waiting for the teacher I was hoping that I will come in
first. And so we walked down to the cross-country course and sat down in our house colour groups butterflies were juggling around in my tummy.I was chairing  on my sister "you can do it keep going." My voice was so tired I was nearly def.  Finally it was our turn I was so nervous when Matua neck said Take Your Marks Get Set go I sprinted across the grass I quickly took the turn I was so nervous because I didn't know the course but I just follow the flags and actually was taking the lead I went through the grass at the hills  we had to do another lap of it but we but it was a little shorter because it was through the finish line so I was looking at coming second but I was really happy with my place and Neve took me at the end. I was really happy that I was going to interschools. BY LOLA DODS

Leighton house

Today me and my class are going to Leighton house I can't wait to get there.  Once we arrived we got in pairs and talked to them and played games with them for a while.  We went to two or three different people I met someone that was nine nine I thought that was amazing.  The chef gave us raro and biscuits and marshmallows they were delicious.   After a few hours we went back to school.   And watched a show from Ilminster it was really cool.

KAPA HAKA 2019

Me and Charlotte rushed to the hall with our dresses on to get our moko once we got our moko on we had our brain break and got on the pahi.

we watched one mahi (performance) then got in our kapa haka lines and watched wai perform.  I felt so hongota. Slowly I walked on stage I had butterflies in haua

Our first song was Tu mai ra Hunter was the kaia.  When we sang Haramai a
paoa it was squashed.   Kai pioioi was my favorite song out of all of them.  I had a heart pounamu it was beautiful.

After the mahi (performance)I saw my teina Charlie and Oscar getting of the bus they go to central school.

Te tapuwae o Rongokako marine reserve

I can't wait to go to the marine reserve it will be so fun.  When the teacher put us in cars we drove to the marine reserve. Once we arrived we listened to what Joe said we needed to do, then we got in the water with our snorkel gear and wetsuit.  I wondered if I was going to see any sting-rays and crabs.

I wasn't to good when I started off but when I got the hang of it it was easy.  I saw the most biggest starfish ever but that was the only starfish I've ever seen.  The starfish was so beautiful it was a black starfish.

It was  freezing in the water but the seaweed was really warm when I brushed past it.  The deeper it got the cooler it was  because we got to see a lot of stuff like pink coral and seaweed that looked like M&Ms.  I got really cold, but I stayed in for 3/4 of the time and got out for 1/4 of the time.  Once we got back we had something to eat and had a play.

My highlight was seeing the beautiful starfish. Then we went back to Kapa Haka.  I agree that in five years time I will vote for the marine reserve to stay because it is the most beautiful place ever and we need the marine reserve because if we don't have it any more our seacreutures.
