On Wednesday me and a few others went to Interchool Athletics. My first event was ball throw I tried my hardest to get the ball to go as far as possible but the ball just missed the flag so we didn't come a place in ball throw but it doesn't really matter because we tried our best and had fun. Then it was the boy's turn they did really well and got our school first place.Next was running, I didn't come a place in the 100m sadly but Charlotte.M got a place she made it into the finals which was very good because it was stiff competition.Overall I think our team did including we came second in the relays. And I had so much fun.

Monarch butterfly show
Kia ora today I will be telling you how we went to the monarch butterfly show.
Today we went to the monarch butterfly show it was really cool. The monarch butterfly show was about how butterflies are important to us and not to kill their homes. They told us that how would you like it if we destroyed your house's and we had nowhere to stay no food or anything. That is how a butterfly would feel if we chopped down there home.
There were two ladies that performed the monarch butterfly show they did some stunts in the show and that was really cool. I walked down to the show with Alivia and naia. On the way there we saw a really cute cavoodle everyone started hugging in and patting it as we walked onto the bridge we started to throw rocks into the river and to see who can make the biggest splash.

Maori Language Week
Today I am going to be telling you about Maori Language Week here at Wainui Beach School.
We as a school are going to try to use as much Maori this week. Teachers will be trying to give us feedback on our learning in Maori. Today the whole of Moana and Nui got together and we sang our school Waiata and filmed it and put it on the Maori language week website.
Our teachers shared a site onto the Moana hub and we had to select the written word and match it to the wons that are in Maori. Here is the link to the game if you want to play it...Maori week game
Our teacher has already taught us some Maori including Kia Kaha which means be strong. So remember to use as many Maori words as possible because this only comes once a year.
I believe that we should be using more Maori in school and I am looking forward to learning more Maori. We have the Kapa Haka festival in term four and I am looking forward to it because I have been practicing my poi.
I would like to learn how to weave, play traditional Maori stick games, and have a hangi.
What are you doing for Maori language week?
What would you like to do?

Beach day
Kia ora my name is Lola and today in my blog I am going to be telling you about beach day.
On Monday we went down to the beach for PBL (Play, Base, Learning) and we got to make anything you want for 40 minutes.Alivia, Naia, and me all made a big as turtle.
We started with the base we kind of made a big circle and then dug around the outside once it was big enough we started to decorate. ALivia and me went to go get some flowers and Naia was making the head.
Once we got back from picking flowers Naia had done the head and she was moving onto the legs. Alivia and I started to put flowers on it's head as a nice necklace. After we did some finishing touches we asked a teacher to come have a look at it and we were very proud of our work.

Pie and Donut day & PJ day
Last Wednesday it was Pie and Donut day and PJ day every person who wanted to dress up in there Pj got to and but they had to bring a gold coin donation, and whoever wanted Pie and Donut got to have one they just needed to pay six dollars. And at morning tea we got Pie and Donut they were delicious. We did PJ day to raise money for camp and we ended up with $310.80.
The camp was sposed to be in term two but since COVID 19 it was postponed to term four. I decided not to wear my PJ's but the people who did wear their PJ's looked really good there were pandas, giraffes, lions, zebras, tigers, there were even some sloths.
The Pie and Donut were so good, in the middle of the donut there was cream and jam, and in the pie, there was mince and cheese. I am really glad we had Pie and Donut day and PJ day so we could still have camp for the year sixes.

Bone Tiki
Hi, i'm Lola, and today i'm going to be telling you about the Book we read in class.
Every Thursday and Friday koka Rachel is in room 3 and she reads a book called the Bone Tiki. We used to read a book called the Maze of Bones, but we swapped to the Bone Tiki. I like the Bone Tiki better because I find it interesting to listen to, and in the Maze of Bones I found it interesting but the Bone Tiki is way more interesting.
The Bone Tiki is about a boy called Matt trying to find his mother in Taupo he ran away from home. She helped find food and told him what and went to a fair and meets kelly there and kelly offered to take him to Taupo because it is on her way home. They were on their way to Taupo when they got stopped by Donna (the evil woman that is trying to steal the Bone Tiki from Matt) , she had three men with her and they looked super tough, Matt and Kelly slowly stepped out of the car, Donna had a evil grin on her face Matt and Kelly were scared to death. Two men started walking up to them every second they got closer Matt and Kelly would take a step back.
Matt held up the Bone Tiki and called for Toa in about two seconds Toa was out of the Bone Tiki and started to beat up the three men Toa was so tough. In a about one minute the three men were on the ground unconscious. Then Donna speed away in her car.

Gym concert
We worked all through discovery for 5 weeks to put that dance together and teaching them them was very hard. Alivia and I are doing a new dance and showing it at the end of next term and the song is "you need to calm down".
Making up a dance with my best friend Alivia is really fun. We are teaching them some really cool stunts and flips. Alivia and I have already got the first 3 moves.
We practice at the back of the hall at discovery.
Alivia and I are really proud of our group for doing the concert and not giving up and very excited about our next concert.

Pepeha art
My Pepeha art represents all of my family. My sister represents the lighthouse for how bright she shines, my Marea represents my dad of how strong he is, my monga represents my mum off how kind she is, and the humunatui stream represents my puppy Arlo for how cute he is.
My Pepeha art has taken 2 weeks to finish I have put a lot of time and effort into my piece of art. The most challenging thing about my art was probably getting all the patterns right and colouring in the back to trace onto a piece of paper. Here is a picture of my Pepeha art.........

Just dance
hall as quickly as possible everyone was making a lot of noise until
the teacher came into the hall everyone sat on the carpet and
waited for Rio, Josie, and Ella to tell us how many people you
were in a group with.
that was a group of four so everyone rushed around trying to find a group of four.
I was in a group with Alivia, Naia, Nina, and myself. The next dance was called Timber.
and follow the characters. At the end of the dance Alivia had to jump on
my back and do a pose which was very awesome.
calibrate with others.
people just behind a green screen so they would have to be real good dancers.
Just dance has nearly over 500 songs!

Our first week back at school.
In the morning while the year sixes are swimming we do quick writes. I love the quick writes. The first quick write was chocolate vs cheese. I choose cheese you can put cheese on really anything. I really like MLH because my teachers are really nice and I've got all my friends in MLH.
We did a challenge to see can you really touch your nose I couldn't but i'm really close. I love that my teachers always take us for a swim in the school pool it is really warm. My goal this year is to achieve what I didn't last year I want to get better at writing, reading, math and art. I really like how we silent read after morning tea and after lunch. I also like how we have Koka Jo and Koka Rachel on Thursday/Friday. This week we started our self portrait and the treaty of Waitangi it's really fun. And thats my first week back in moana learning hub.
